10 Affordable Activities to Keep Your Kids Busy in Caledon this Summer

If your family is considering the move to Caledon, you might be wondering what kinds of local activities are available to keep your young ones entertained this summer. That’s why we’ve put together a list of the 10 best (and most affordable!) activities to keep your kids busy in Caledon this summer.

1. Stewart’s Super Saturday Events – Summer Long – Free

Caledon Equestrian Park’s “Super Saturdays” are a weekly summer event where kids and families can watch the Equestrian Grand Prix for free. The event boasts bouncy castles, face painting, and live music. If your child loves horses or just trying tasty treats, this is the perfect activity for them.

2. Caledon Day – June 14th – Free

This year is the city’s 16th Caledon Day, a festival voted in the top 100 events in Ontario. The local celebration starts at 2pm and has food booths, arts and crafts, games for families, and a new community mural. Along with performances by local talent, the night will be headlined by The Strumbellas, a Juno Award-winning band from Lindsay, Ontario.

3. The Caledon Fair – June 13th - 15th – Free

The Caledon Fair is an annual fair hosted by the Caledon Agricultural Society. This event has petting zoos, pony rides, and agricultural exhibits. There are also circus rides, a demolition derby, and a tractor pull. This event runs through the weekend and is a great chance to enjoy the area’s lively agricultural community.

4. Caledon Canada Day and Strawberry Festival – July 1st – Free

This year, Caledon will be celebrating Canada Day at the Caledon Fairgrounds, where attendees can enjoy free birthday cake and balloons, a classic car show, and an all-day strawberry breakfast. This free event runs from 8am to 2:30pm.

5. Albion Hills Conservation Park – $0 - $8.00

Albion Hills Conservation Park is a local conservation area that sports a splash pad and a huge outdoor wading pool. The park also has a playground, disc golf course, and trails. Toddlers (0-3) are free, children (4-13) are $5.30, and adults are $8.

6. Downey’s Farmyard Play Area – $17.99

7. Great War Flying Museum – $0 - $10

The Caledon Great War Flying Museum is a volunteer-run collection of World War 1 antique replica planes. The museum is open on select weekdays and weekends and is free for children (0-14), $5 for students (14-18), and $10 for adults. It’s about an hour of fun for airplane-lovers, history buffs, and curious little ones.

8. Caledon Public Library Programs – Free

The Caledon Public Library also offers programs like Drop-In Lego-Building, Family Storytime, Card Trading Night, art workshops, and much more. The programs are free, but they fill up fast, so make sure to book in advance.

9. Town of Caledon Summer Camps – $180 - $250

The Town of Caledon offers summer day camps for activities like baking, painting, science, sports, and more. The camps are a great way to keep your children entertained for weeks at a time.

10. Teen Ranch Camp – $250 to $1,825/week

Teen Ranch offers day and overnight camps like horse camp, hockey camp, or the general-activity WHAM Camp. The campground features activities like archery, tubing, kayaking, rock climbing, and much more.
