4 Ways to Spend Your Weekend at CityPointe Heights

CityPointe Heights is Poetry Living’s vibrant master planned community at Gore Rd. and Queen St. E., at the border of Brampton, Vaughan, and Toronto. It’s a community with plenty to offer, including fantastic amenities, a wide selection of urban conveniences, and some beautiful green spaces.

But what would life at CityPointe Heights look like? To help paint a picture, here’s a rundown of a few activities that might make up a typical Saturday, all just a few minutes from home.

Explore Clairville Conservation Area

Clairville Conservation Area is an urban oasis just a few minutes south of CityPointe Heights. Its 848 acres of grasslands, valleys, wetlands, and forests, make it a perfect spot for a relaxing walk, an invigorating hike, or a leisurely bike ride through the beautiful wooded trails. It’s also a great area for a picnic or to fish. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some of the deer, beavers, songbirds, and other wildlife that call the area home.

Shop at Bramalea City Centre

After reconnecting with nature, how about a little retail therapy? With over 300 stores spread out over 1.5 million square feet of retail space, Bramalea City Centre is one of Canada’s largest malls. Whether you’re trying to find something in particular, rebuilding your wardrobe, or just doing a little window shopping, you can do it here.

Play at Gore Meadows Community Centre

For those seeking a more active weekend, Gore Meadows Community Centre just north of CityPointe Heights on Gore Road. This state-of-the-art facility offers a variety of recreational options for all ages: swimming, fitness classes, auditoriums, and an “activity hub” that includes outdoor playgrounds, basketball courts, sports fields, a splash pad (summer), and skating rink (winter). The centre is also home to a branch of the Brampton public library and is a great spot to host events.

Eat Out in Vaughan or Brampton

Brampton and Vaughan are both home to a huge selection of dining options to cap off your day. If you’re looking to stay in Brampton, check out Paranthe Wali Gali, a very popular local establishment on Queen offering authentic Indian cuisine. Named after a famous alleyway in Delhi, the name translates to “bylane of the flatbread.” As you might have gathered, are best known for their flavourful paranthes, a classic Indian flatbread.

If you’re in the mood for Italian, Oca Nera is gem tucked away on Islington road behind a gas station. But don’t let the humble setting fool you. Inside is you’ll find an upscale dining atmosphere with a rotating menu of pastas and mains. Whichever you choose, you're in for a treat.
